What we collect, and why
The enquiry form. If you send an enquiry we collect your name, your email address, a phone number if you give one, and whatever you write in the brief. We use it to reply and to follow the enquiry up. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to a business enquiry; if an engagement follows, processing continues under that contract.
The enquiry assistant. Where this site offers an assistant to talk to, the conversation is processed to answer your questions, and if you ask to book a call your contact details and requested time are stored as an enquiry for a person to confirm. Nothing is booked or acted on without human confirmation.
Server logs. Like almost every website, our servers keep standard request logs (IP address, time, page requested) for security and operations. They are kept briefly and are not used to profile anyone.
There are no user accounts on this site, no marketing lists you are added to without asking, and nothing collected while you simply read it.
Where your data goes
Enquiries are held in our own systems, built on the same platform we sell, hosted with Amazon Web Services in London. Email is delivered through Twilio SendGrid. Both act as processors on our instructions. We never sell personal data and never share it for marketing.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for as long as we are dealing with them and for a reasonable period afterwards as a business record. If you become a client, contract and transaction records are kept for up to six years after the relationship ends, for tax and legal purposes. Anything we have no duty to keep, we will erase on request.
What we do not want
The form is for business enquiries. Please do not send sensitive personal information (health details, for example). If a message includes some, we use it only to handle that enquiry and will delete it on request.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, erase it, restrict how we use it, object to our use of it, or ask for it in a portable form. Write to info@softwaredevelopment.co.uk and we will respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, though we would welcome the chance to put things right first.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies. There is no analytics script, no tracking pixel and no advertising, which is why there is no cookie banner to click.
Reading this site involves no third-party services at all: every asset, the typefaces included, is served from our own infrastructure, so your browser talks to nobody but us. If we ever add analytics or anything that sets a cookie, this page will change first and a consent banner will arrive with it.
Changes
We will update this notice when what we do changes, and the version line below changes with it.
